Blue Growth & Investment Conference,
Blue Week 2016

The Blue Growth and Investment Conference, features discussion and action on a range of financial instruments to help SIDS and developing countries to achieve Blue Growth and food security.

This key section of Blue Week will support discussion from leading experts and agencies on: loans, credit, grants, debt for nature swaps, debt swaps for ocean health, blue bonds, blue carbon financing, micro finance, public-private partnerships, venture capital, and financing for requisite capacity development. The Conference will include several “Shark Tanks,” to consider possible funding opportunities for specific projects.
Organized by the Government of Grenada, the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Global Ocean Forum, with collaboration from the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the University of Delaware, the Nature Conservancy, Rare, WWF the Organization of American States, and the Global Island Partnership.

Day 3, May 16th

  • Official Opening
  • Focus on BLUE FINANCE
  • Themes: Blue Bonds, Debt for Nature Swaps, Blue Finance, Blue Carbon, Blue Investments and Ocean Venture Capital

Day 4, May 17th

  • Focus on FOOD SECURITY
  • 1st Shark Tank session
  • Themes: Fisheries, Aquaculture, Seafood Technology

Day 5, May 18th

  • Focus on integrated Approaches and Capacity Development
  • 2nd Shark Tank session.
  • Themes: Integrated Approaches , Spatial Planning, Sustainable Tourism, Marine Protected Areas, Maritime Industries, Awareness raising and Public Relations.
